DOOMDOOMA, July 25 - Rich tributes were paid to former president of Asom Satra Mahasabha and the founder president of Tinsukia District Journalists Association (TDJA) Bhadra Krishna Goswami on his first death anniversary today. TDJA in collaboration with Digboi Press Club (DPC) organised a special memorial programme at Priyadas Talukder Smriti Bhawan, Digboi.
The programme began with the lighting of the earthen lamp and offering of floral tributes at the portrait of late Bhadra Krishna Goswami by former secretary of Tinsukia District Sahitya Sabha Anil Saikia. The programme was chaired by the president of TDJA Dr Rishi Das. Addressing the gathering, eminent scholar and the Chief Medical Officer of Sivasagar, Dr Arun Chandra Mahanta spoke on various aspects of life and works of Bhadra Krishna Goswami.
The president of Digboi Sahitya Sewa Samity Dilip Bhattacharya, former president of TDJA Arjun Baruah spoke on this occasion.
The programme was also attended by classical artiste Anudhriti Mahanta, the vice president of Assam Union of Working Journalists (South - West Zone ) Kamal Talukder, TDJA vice president Parag Bhuyan, secretary Ranajyoti Neog, former secretary Manoj Dutta and Manoranjan Das , president of Digboi Press Club Ramani Burhagohain and several other distinguished persons. The proceedings of the programme was anchored by the secretary of Digboi Press Club Arup Kalita.
