MORIGAON, Nov 20 � Rhino Football Club of Tezpur marched into the semifinals of the Motiram Bora Memorial Football Tournament defeating TRAU of Manipur by an aggregate of 9-8 goals in sudden death.
At the Khirod Baruah Stadium here today, the quarterfinal match ended in a 2-2 draw in regulation time and in the tie-breaker, both the teams netted four goals each. In sudden death, the Tezpur outfit converted first three shots while the Manipur team missed the third shot.
In regulation time, Gurachand Marandi (45th minute) and Ajay Panda (64th minute) netted one goal each for the Rhino FC while Kh Naoton (53rd minute) and M Meino (8th minute) fired for the Manipur team.
In the first semifinal on November 22, Global Sports Academy will play against KIYC, Imphal.
