GUWAHATI, Nov 8 � RH Khan, the prime accused in the Rs 1,000-crore NC Hills scam, was posted as Child Development Project Officer in Jatinga Valley ICDS Project in NC Hills district in the Social Welfare Department in 1996. Even though he was not promoted, Khan, till his arrest, was holding simultaneously the positions of District Social Welfare Officer, NC Hills, Deputy Director, Social Welfare, NC Hills, CDPO, Jatinga Valley ICDS Project, CDPO, Harangajao ICDS Project, and CDPO, Dayang Valley ICDS Project, NC Hills.
Social Welfare Minister Akon Bora said this while replying to a written question by AIUDF legislator Sirajuddin Ajmal in the Assembly today.
To another query as to whether Khan was given the official charges of OSD of multiple departments prior to his arrest, the minister said that it was not known to the Social Welfare Department since no official communication had been received.
