GUWAHATI, Oct 15 � The All Assam Students� Union and 26 ethnic organsations in a joint statement here today demanded revocation of the land deal signed by India with Bangladesh without the consent of the people of Assam recently.
They have also demanded that all mega-dam hydel projects proposed in the seismically sensitive areas of the NE region, like the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Power Project, should abandoned, besides, checking Nagaland encroachment on Assam land, updating the National Register of Citizens on the basis of the Assam Accord and recognizing the State�s problems of flood and erosion as national ones. They also demanded steps to ensure physical protection of Majuli island.
