GUWAHATI, Oct 21 � The process for partial revision of photo electoral rolls in the four legislative Assembly constituencies in the Kamrup Metro district is on and the final list would be released on January 5, 2015.
The revision, with January 1, 2015 as the base, started with the publication of the draft electoral rolls for the four constituencies � No.51 (Jalukbari), No.52 (Dispur), No.53 (Guwahati East) and No.54 (Guwahati West) � on October 15 last.
People can file objections and complaints till November 10.
The meeting of gaon sabhas, local municipalities and RWAs for correcting names was held on October 17 and another round of such meetings are slated for October 30.
Booth-level agents of political parties will undertake drive for objections and complaints till November 2.
On November 20, all objections and complaints will be sorted out and the final electoral rolls will be released on January 5.
People who want to enrol in the electoral roll or submit corrections or new photos for voter IDs can do so with the North Guwahati Revenue Circle Officer at Amingaon for the Jalukbari constituency, with the Dispur Circle Officer at BN Saikia Path, Wireless, for the Dispur constituency, with the Guwahati Circle Officer at DC Office for the Guwahati East constituency and with the Azara Circle Officer for Guwahati West constituency.
Voters with spelling mistakes or having wrong address in the previous electoral rolls can also contact the circle officers by November 15.
