Residential flats for SSB officers inaugurated

JORABAT, Aug 30 - Residential flats for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) officers and personnel were inaugurated at Sonapur, 22 Bn, SSB near here today.

Chief guest Bhanu Upadhyay, Inspector General, SSB, Guwahati Frontier, inaugurated two blocks of 15 Type-III flats and two Type-V flats at the Sonapur campus of the 22 Bn, SSB.

While dedicating these flats to the SSB officers and the personnel, Upadhyay said the organisation is aware of the problems being faced by its men and their families, and is committed to provide them all the required amenities. It is evident that the SSB personnel have been facing acute shortage of family accommodation, but the Central government is taking all efforts to solve this problem, added Upadhyay.

The IG also expressed satisfaction over the timely completion of the projects and praised the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) as well as the SSB for their joint efforts.

The programme was started with traditional worship, ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by sweets distribution and lunch. A plantation drive was also carried out in the campus area.

Umesh Kumar Thapliyal, Commandant, 22 Bn, SSB, Sonapur with other officers, staff and officers from the CPWD were also present in the programme.
