Remote-controlled bomb recovered

GORESWAR, Dec 8 - A remote-controlled bomb along with a demand letter were recovered from a location inside businessman Koilash Boro�s residence at No. 2 Goreswar under Goreswar Police Station in Baksa district recently.

As per information divulged by Koilash Boro before mediapersons, Nilima Boro, wife Koilash Boro, on seeing a white-coloured plastic bag and some wire in their backyard recently, raised an alarm. Subsequently, Heramba Goswami, the OC of Goreswar Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered the white-coloured bag.

Several photographs of businessman Koilash Boro were pasted over the bomb-like object. Suspecting it to be an explosive device, police and Army personnel threw it into a nearby pond. Experts from Guwahati later identified it as a remote-controlled bomb and deactivated it in the evening.

Police also recovered a demand letter from the file which was addressed to Koilash Boro in Bodo language by a newly-floated militant group abbreviated BFDN. The organisation demanded Rs 10 to 12 lakh from Koliash Boro within two days of receiving the demand letter.

Earlier, a phone call was also received by Koilash Boro from 69016-11724 demanding the aforementioned amount from the said organisation.
