Remembered at Tinsukia too

TINSUKIA, Oct 26 � The 150-year birth anniversary celebration of the doyen of Assamese literature, Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezborua, organised by the Bishnujyoti Sangeet Mahabidyalaya, situated at Bordoloi Nagar here, concluded with an open session on Saturday. The session was presided over by renowned writer, dramatist, poet and the president of the Tinsukia district branch of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, Harendra Nath Borthakur.

In the meeting, a book compiled on the occasion by the celebration committee Bezbaroa Geetor Sangkalan and Anubha Baruah�s Sangskar Aru Ejaak Sharali were released by Harendra Nath Borthakur. Dr Madan Sharmah of the English and Foreign Languages Department of Tezpur University and Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia of Dibrugarh University delivered their speeches on the life and works of Bezbaroa as the keynote speaker and special guest of the open session. The meeting was attended by several other litterateurs besides other dignitaries.
