Relief to Assam flood-hit

ITANAGAR, July 23 - Lending a helping hand to the people affected by flood in Assam, the Kristi Kendra, Naharlagun, distributed relief materials to more than 350 flood-hit families of Gohpur subdivision in the neighbouring State on Sunday.

Altogether, 250 families of Golsepa-Kuhimari village and 110 families of Dipara village at Gohpur in Biswanath district, who were badly affected in the recent deluge caused by the mighty Brahmaputra river, were given relief materials in two relief distribution camps.

The relief materials included rice, dal, mustard oil, potato, salt, chira, candles, matchbox, ORS, mineral water, milk, biscuits, mosquito agarbatti, bath soaps, sanitary napkins, etc.

On the sidelines of relief distribution, health camps were also conducted in both villages. Dr Moon Moon Das of Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, and Dr Devendar Sachdev of Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), Naharlagun, checked the flood-affected people and distributed medicines with the help of the Biswanath district administration and local youths of Gohpur.

Meanwhile, Kristi Kendra, Naharlagun, thanked all sections of people residing in the Capital Complex, including various organisations like Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) and ABK Women Wing, Itanagar, and �Standing Together to Empower People�, Anajori SHG, Dream Team SHG, Lakshmi SHG, Little Rose School of Naharlagun and members of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) for their support and cooperation in providing flood relief.
