Release my husband, wife appeals to ULFA(I)

SIVASAGAR, Feb 21: Abducted oil engineer Pranab Kumar Gogoi’s wife Nomita Gogoi today appealed to ULFA (I) to release her husband.

Gogoi, who is an engineer of the Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited, along with Ram Kumar of Bihar of the company was abducted by the militant group from Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh in December.

The outfit in a letter signed by the publicity wing yesterday threatened to take stern action against the employees.

When this Correspondent met Gogoi’s wife at Habiram Bora Path here today, she said, “We are totally helpless as to whom should we contact for his safe release. We are also ready to sell our property in order to get him back.”

It is learnt that Quippo has all along been trying to get them released, though no progress has been achieved. Family members met the elder brother of ULFA (I) chief Paresh Baruah at Jeraigaon near Chabua and prayed for their release.

The Chief Executive of OIL at Duliajan and the CEO of Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure told the media thatnegotiations for their release are on.
