Registration date for literacy prog extended

JALUKBARI, Aug 7 - The Government of Assam has extended the online registration process under the Digital Literacy Programme up to August 10.

At least one member of each household of the selected gaon panchayats and local bodies who is either illiterate or studied up to seventh standard and is in the 14�60 age group, will be brought under the registration process so that they may be able to get benefits under the Digital Literacy Programme.

In Kamrup district, the selected gaon panchayats and local bodies for the Digital Literacy Programme are 69 Dakhin-Pochim Boko, Chaygaon, Hajo, Kamalpur, Kochpara and Rangia. For these gaon panchayats and local bodies altogether 12 training centres have been identified for imparting training under the programme.

Interested villagers can enrol their names for availing the benefits within August 10 through the gaon panchayat secretaries concerned.
