GUWAHATI, Sept 22 - The Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO)-2016 for Assam region will be held on October 16 from 1 pm to 4 pm in four centres of the State � Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Silchar.
The competition is being organised under the aegis of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) which has been conducting the Mathematics Olympiad Programme in India since 1989 on behalf of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
The last date for applying for RMO-2016 is October 5.
"The prestigious annual programme for mathematical talent hunt in India is completed in four stages for which 25 regions in the country have been identified with the appointment of a regional coordinator for each region. Students studying in any institution in Assam who were born on or after August 1, 1997, and are in Class XI or below, are eligible to appear in RMO- 2016. The intending students satisfying such eligibility criteria must apply in prescribed form available in the website of Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM),� AAM said in a statement.
The application form can be downloaded from the AAM website. A list of candidates with roll numbers and centres of examination will be displayed in the AAM website immediately after the last date of submission of applications.
