Recovered Ugratara idol re-installed

GUWAHATI, May 23 - The centuries-old idol of Maa Tara, which was stolen months ago and recently recovered, was ceremoniously installed at the Ugratara temple today in the presence of devotees who flocked the temple in large numbers.

The occasion �Pran Pratistha� was also attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

�As part of the ceremony, obeisance was paid to the deity and �Jol Torpon� rituals were performed in Jorpukhuri,� said advocate Bijon Kumar Mahajan, a local resident, who also attended the ceremony.

Temple committee member Kailash Sarma was also present on the occasion.
