GUWAHATI, March 23 � The State cabinet sub-committee will submit its recommendations on the NRC update by March 26 to the Assam government.
Announcing this before media persons on Friday, Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the recommendations have been made on the basis of discussions that the government had with the AASU, AMSU and 26 other organizations representing the indigenous communities.
�We have taken all the parties into confidence and arrived at a consensus and hopeful to start the process by July if the government of India gives the notification,� said Sarma adding that the Assam government wants to complete the process before 2016.
