DERGAON, Aug 25 - The opening ceremony of year-long centenary celebration of Sahityacharya Sayed Abdul Malik will be held at his native place as a central programme of Asam Sahitya Sabha (ASS) next year.
To mark the centenary year, the apex literary body of the State has started its preparation. In this connection, a public meeting was held under the aegis of Naharani Majgaon Sikhya Sanskriti Unnayan Samiti (NMSSUS) at Naharani Majgaon Yubak Sangha premises.
The meeting chaired by the president of Naharani Sakha Sahitya Sabha, Trailokya Gogoi was attended by the convenor of Youth Parliament of ASS, Nurul Sultan as the central observer. The welcome address was given by the secretary of NMSSUS Kamaluddin Ahmed while the objective of the meeting was explained by the secretary of Golaghat District Sahitya Sabha, Tafajjul Haque Barbara.
Addressing the gathering the observer urged all to extend their cooperation for the grand success of the event. Taking part as the distinguished guest in the meeting, the Dergaon MLA Bhabendra Nath Bharali assured all kind of help from his side as well as from the State government. The meting was also addressed by Puranjay Goswami, Phanidhar Rajkhowa, Prabhat Phukan, Atul Goswami, Abdul Hasim, Abdulla Siddiki, Wasid Ahmed, Prabin Das, Saiful Hussain, etc.
After threadbare discussion, the meeting formed a reception committee to organise the opening ceremony of the centenary celebration on January 16, 2018 with Nurul Sultan as the president, Puranjay Goswami as the working president, Prabhat Phukan, Phanidhar Rajkhowa, Matiur Rahman, Troilukya Gogoi, Sayed Nurul Islam as vice-presidents and Kamaluddin Ahmed and Momiul Hussain as the general secretaries. The meeting urged upon all to extend cooperation for the grand success of the programme.
