ITANAGAR, Sept 9 - Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar while commending the people of Arunachal Pradesh for upholding unity in the face of its huge diversity has urged them to rejoice the diversity rather than making it a cause for conflict. He also called upon the youths to work for bringing peace into the region.

Addressing an inter-faith cultural programme here at Indira Gandhi Park last evening, the spiritual guru said, I give credit to the people of this State for having accepted and respected the diversity. Let not diversity be a reason for discord but to celebrate and to bring excitement.

He said respect for fellow human being can be cultivated through finding happiness in others happiness. Stating that Arunachalee indigenous culture finds much similarity with those of indigenous tribes in Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia, the famed spiritual leader said the Art of Living would like to give the people of Arunachal a chance to interact with them.

The spiritual leader, who proposed to host a World Tribal Culture Festival in Arunachal to reflect Indias cultural intelligence and the spirit of diversity, said India being a repository of knowledge and culture has always been known as Vishwa Guru.

Speaking on youth potential, he said youths here have smart brains, good physique and are naturally gifted with talents in music and sports. He also said Aruanchali youths being good in the art of healing have huge demand outside the State as therapists while adding that Arunachal has got all the ingredients to become a prosperous State in the future.

Colourful cultural dances from different tribes representing States diversity were presented on the occasion, which was also attended by religious heads of different communities including Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu and indigenous faith groups.
