NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 30 - Rajya Sabha MP from Assam Sanjay Singh of the Congress visited the flood-affected areas of Lakhimpur and took stock of the situation on Wednesday.
He visited the worst flood-hit areas of Aamtola, Ali-Chiga in Pachim Telahee and Bogoleejan in North Lakhimpur and interacted with the locals. The RS MP was accompanied by Dr Joy Prakash Das, president of Lakhimpur District Congress Committee.
Later addressing a press meet, MP Singh said, �We should find out a permanent solution to the flood problems in the region.� He added that instead of the �flood relief culture� of every year, the government should find out a permanent solution to the problem by roping in experts.
