Rajkhowa acting like BJP agent: CM

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 19 - Accusing the BJP of pursuing a sinister agenda of toppling non-BJP governments through Governors, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that in the latest such instance, the Arunachal Pradesh Governor was acting like a BJP agent rather than an impartial head of the State as mandated by the Constitution of India.

It is regrettable that a Governor should be acting as an agent of a political party instead of discharging his responsibilities as an impartial head of the State under the Constitution. The latest developments in Arunachal Pradesh make it clear that the Governor, JP Rajkhowa, acted as an agent of the BJP. He, in fact, had turned the Raj Bhawan into a BJP-RSS office, Gogoi said at a press conference.

Expressing displeasure over the manner of functioning of the Assam Governor, Gogoi added that he, too, had been acting as a BJP-RSS agent and interfered with the State Governments functioning.

I had complained to the Prime Minister over the partisan activities of the Governor. He even instigated some NGOs to raise their voices against the State Government over non-issues, he said.
