Rajib overcomes all odds to shine in HSLC examination

DOOMDOOMA, June 13 - Rajib Deka, a student who hails from a poor family secured first division with distinction marks in the HSLC examination, 2017. He appeared from Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya and secured 89.3 percent marks.

Rajib�s father Dinesh Deka is a 4th grade employee of Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya, who has to manage his family with the little money he earns. Moreover, he along with his family of four members reside in a small rented house at Azad Road of Doomdooma. Fortunately, Rajib overcame all these hardships with his sincerity and hard work to achieve such a brilliant result.

Rajib, who wants to be an administrative officer in future, said that his father Dinesh Deka and mother Bobita Deka always inspired him to do better. Rajib will now study in the Commerce stream.

Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya from where Rajib appeared in the HSLC examination organised a special programme in the school recently to felicitate him along with six other students who secured first division in the HSLC examination from the school. They are Pritam Pujari (86.7%), Richa Barman (78%), Deba Gogoi (77.8%), Jyotirmoy Borgohain (76.2%) , Siddartha Bhumij (72.5%) and Upasana Das (70%). All these students along with Rajib Deka were congratulated by the school authority with a phulam gamosa and a bundle of books each.

In this programme, the former Principal of Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya Beenapani Gogoi awarded Rajib Deka with a cash award in memory of her Late husband Pradeep Gogoi.

On the other hand, a guardian named Suren Borgohain also awarded Rajib with a cash award. Moreover, Jhikananda Borgohain, who retired as Principal of Hoonlal HS School, Doomdooma and is vice-president of the managing committee of Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya, also awarded Rajib with a cash award for securing above 90% marks in General Mathematics and General Science.
