By A Correspondent

TIHU, June 17 - With the advent of the south-west monsoon, rivers like Tihu, Marapagaldia and Buradis are flowing above the danger level in Paschim Nalbari area. All these rivers are maintaining a rising trend. On the other hand, due to incessant rains since yesterday, all the low lying places of Tihu, Kaithalkuchi and Chamata area have been submerged by rain water.

Due to the bad weather, farmers have also not been able to prepare their fields for paddy. The condition of the Kaithalkuchi-Haribhanga-Tihu PWD road, Haribhanga-Makhibaha PWD road, Tihu-Makhibaha PWD road has also worsened due to the rain.

It may be mentioned here that due to the negligence of the concerned authority as also the local MLA, some stretches of the Kaithalkuchi-Haribhanga PWD road at Bali-Haribhanga has remained a very serious condition. This road was damaged last year by floods. The concerned authority did not pay any attention to repair this portion despite the pleas of the public.
