GUWAHATI, April 9 The two-day Raijor Podulit Raijor Sarkar (RPRS) programme in the Kamrup (Metro) district concluded on Wednesday.

On the concluding day, 1,609 people attended the programme in seven Gaon Panchayats. The Kamrup (Metro) district received 782 petitions, of which 76 were disposed off on the spot.

On the second day of the second round, seven teams carried out the RPRS programme in seven Gaon Panchayats. The initial phase of the programme included sweeping and cleaning under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, plantation, visits to schools, primary health centres, Anganwadis, fair-price shops and other public offices of various departments in the Gaon Panchayat area.

This was followed by a public meeting for apprising the general public about the schemes and activities of four departments. Project Director, DRDA, Kamrup (Metro), Nandita Konwar, welcomed the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro), Dr M Angamuthu, to the RPRS public meeting at Chandrapur Gaon Panchayat in Chandrapur development block.

The Deputy Commissioner had a fruitful interaction with the public who apprised him of their local problems and their grievances. The Project Director of DRDA accepted the petitions relating to their grievances and assured the people of addressing their problems. Since the Panchayat and Rural Development Department is the nodal department for RPRS, the Project Director requested all the officials of all the line departments concerned to redress the peoples grievances at the earliest.
