JORHAT, Feb 26 � In an interaction with 600 selected women in a temporarily fortified chamber on the historic Kachari Maidan here this evening, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi assured them of implementation of the rules concerning empowerment of women in political and social arenas and various development activities, besides providing them adequate security.
Replying to questions, Rahul said he is always ready to address the problems faced by Assam�s women and to ensure reservation of seats for their participation in Parliamentary and Assembly elections as per the announcement he had made earlier. The participants, who belonged to various age groups and professions, comprised teachers, university professors, entrepreneurs and activists belonging to the block-level Congress.
