GUWAHATI, Sept 15 - Documents relating to storage of pump sets in a city-based godown are being examined by police after it was alleged that some of the pump sets meant for the Agriculture department were being illegally transported to Odisha this afternoon.
Police said that after the matter came to their notice, they have stationed some police personnel in the godown so that no item can be shifted till the records are completely verified.
The godown Pathik Enterprise is reportedly owned by a close relative of Congress MLA Nilamoni Sen Deka, although police said that the ownership documents too are being verified.
Some of the media personnel intervened and reported the matter when around 13 pump sets were being loaded on a truck. We have now asked the godown management to produce all the documents, including those pertaining to procurement and supply of the pump sets by tomorrow, police said.
