Pul allocates portfolios to Ministers

ITANAGAR, March 11 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul today allocated portfolios to the newly appointed Cabinet Ministers in his eight-member Council of Ministers.

Allocation of portfolios took place six days after Pul�s seven Cabinet colleagues, including two Deputy CMs, were sworn in on March 5 last. Two days earlier, 30 Pul-led Congress legislators merged with People�s Party of Arunachal (PPA) paving the way for installation of a PPA Government in the State. Pul had taken over the State�s reins on February 19 last following lifting of President�s rule in the State.

Retaining the plum portfolios including Planning and Finance, Hydropower, IPR and departments not alloted to any Minister, the CM allocated the Home portfolio to Deputy Chief Minister Kameng Dolo. He was also assigned the departments of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Textiles and Handicrafts.

Another Dy CM, Chowna Mein, has been given PWD, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary.

Tenzin Norbu Thongdok has been entrusted with responsibilities of Power & Non-Conventional Energy Resources and Research departments.

While Kumar Waii has been alloted departments like RWD, Agriculture, Labour and Employment, Wanglin Lowangdong got Education, Parliamentary Affairs and DoTCL (Department of Tirap-Changlang-Longding Affairs).

Kamlung Mossang has been given WRD, Mines, Trade and Commerce departments, while Lombo Tayeng got Public Health Engineering & Water Supply and Libraries departments.
