IMPHAL, Aug 3 - Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has once again urged all stakeholders of the State to extend sincere cooperation to the effort of the State Government in drafting a new Inner Line Permit (ILP)-related Bill for passing in the State Assembly.

Gaikhangam told the media here on Tuesday that the State Government has consulted senior lawyers of the apex Court and the process of drafting a new Bill in place of the Protection of Manipur Peoples (PMP) Bill 2015 is nearing completion.

The State Government has been working to come to reach an understanding with the Churachandpur based Joint Action Committee (JAC) against anti-tribal Bills. Meanwhile, the JAC on Wednesday announced its decision to observe August 31 as Tribal Unity Day.
