GUWAHATI, Feb 16 � The 35th edition of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) Inter Unit Football Tournament got off to a colourful start at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre ground here today.

In the opening match of the championship, IOC (AOD) defeated Engineers India Ltd (EIL) by a clear margin of 3-0 goals. Moni Prasad (22nd minute), AU Ahmed (27th minute) and P Rajbongshi (65th minute) netted one goal each for the winning team.

The second match of the day between HPCL and NRL ended in a goal less draw.

Earlier the championship was formally inaugurated by Jayanta Kumar Borgohain, Executive Director, OIL.

Vivek Satyajit, secretary PSPB, Rahul Choudhury, GM Pipeline and organising president, Ashok Das, Head ER and former international footballer Gilbertson Sangma were present in the opening ceremony where organising secretary Tridib Duvarah offered vote of thanks.
