TEZPUR, Oct 29 The Sonitpur district BJP Yuva Morcha today staged a protest against the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) party and its chief Badaruddin Ajmal after a report on a national TV channel about his alleged involvement with Bangladeshi militants and the Al-Qaeda.

The secretary of the Tezpur unit of the Yuva Morcha, Dipak Saikia alleged that the AIUDF has been playing on the religious sentiments of the minority community since its inception, and that it has been involved in various unlawful activities including giving protection to illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Assam and supporting fundamentalist groups.

The party has been helping Muslim militant groups and trying to increase the number of their cadres in Assam with the help of other Muslim countries, he alleged. During the last two days, the people of Assam have come to know the political ideology of the party, he added.

Saikia also urged the Government to ban the AIUDF and arrest party chief Badaruddin Ajmal. Earlier, the protesters burnt the effigy of the AIUDF supremo.
