Progress of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana reviewed

TEZPUR, Oct 27 - A meeting to review the progress of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner�s Office here on Thursday.

Held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Farouk Alam, the meeting discussed the department-wise progress on various parameters under SAGY in the presence of Principal Investigator of Post Project Evaluation for SAGY, Prof SS Sarkar of the Department of Business Administration, Tezpur Central University and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad-cum-Project Director of DRDA, Sonitpur, Dipak Kumar Handique.

DDC Farouk Alam directed all the departments to submit their progress reports at the earliest possible and upload the data on the portal. He also asked all the departments that were lagging behind to fulfil their targets as soon as possible.

The CEO of Zilla Parishad Dipak Handique informed that No. 2 Sootea Gaon Panchayat under Sootea Development Block of undivided Sonitpur district was taken up under the SAGY scheme during the first phase, though it now falls under Biswanath district.

Prof. SS Sarkar of Tezpur University, who was entrusted with the responsibility of Post Project Evaluation of SAGY by the Union Ministry of Rural Development, offered a detailed presentation on the progress achieved so far and the various parameters on which the progress is being evaluated.

He highlighted the 35 indicators which will be evaluated for achievements, as laid out in the SAGY scheme, and asked the departments to fulfil the targets based on the Village Development Plan which was created after carrying out a baseline survey of No. 2 Sootea village.

The meeting was attended by Heads of all the departments of the district.
