Prog on inclusive education

GUWAHATI, March 21 - Shishu Sarothi today organised �Ring the Bell� campaign in association with RAISE North East to raise awareness about the need and importance of inclusive education.

The campaign was held at the LP & ME School field, Rupnagar where more than 200 children participated to be part of this pioneering campaign.�

The programme was organised�with an aim to create awareness about the importance of inclusive education in schools, both private and government.

�Ring the Bell� campaign is a global advocacy campaign to promote the disability inclusive education of Liliane Fonds � Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS)�who is one of RAISE�S funding partners, along with other international agencies CBM and�LFW.

The campaign involves ringing the bell for a minute by school children to�create some noise to draw attention of key stakeholders and the masses on the issue and importance of inclusive education.

The students also danced along to the beats of dhol, taal and pepa which together created a symphonic melody signifying and upholding the essence of inclusion.��

RAISE North East is a project which started in 2016 to complement the flagship programme of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA). RAISE-NE has 15 partners across�five�states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland and Manipur�in the North East, who will liaise with SSAs of the respective states, with an aim to make 75 SSA schools models of inclusive education by the year 2020.
