TEZPUR, May 21 � The President of India in her capacity as the Visitor of Tezpur University has re-appointed Professor Mihir K. Chaudhuri as Vice Chancellor of the university for another term of five years. Assuming charge for the second term today, Professor Chaudhuri acknowledged the support and cooperation of his colleagues and students during his first term, and hoped to receive stronger cooperation from all concerned.
A distinguished academician and an aggressive institution builder, Professor Chaudhuri initially served the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong and later IIT Guwahati at their infancy and was actively involved in their growth. In 2007, he was deputed to Tezpur University as its Vice Chancellor. With his dedication and zealous mission, the university has undergone transformation rendering it to be a seat of higher learning and research.
