NEW DELHI, Dec 28 � While not ruling out the possibility of involvement of Maoists in the killing of tea estate owner Mridul Bhattacharyya, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said a thorough probe would reveal the actual plot.
Talking to newsmen, he said while he cannot say with certainty that Maoists were involved in Bhattacharya�s killing, the area is known to be infested with Maoist sleeper cells. Whether Maoists were indeed involved in the incident would be revealed by the onging probe, he said.
The area is also known to house sympathisers of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, he said, acknowledging that the tea estate was suffering from labour problem. The State Government has decided to institute a high-level inquiry into the killing of the TE owner and his wife Rita.
