Probe ordered into student�s death

DIBRUGARH, Aug 13 - The district magistrate of Charaideo has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of one Rongrajan Mohan, a Class-IV student of St Joseph�s High School in Sonari.

Additional Deputy Commissioner PK Bora of the district has been assigned with the task of conducting the inquiry.

The student succumbed to his injuries at a private nursing home here at around 12:30 am last night. He had sustained grievous injury on his head and leg reportedly after an old wall of a urinal collapsed and fell on him on August 9.

Rongrajan was kept under life support at the Aditya Diagnostics and Hospital here. His death came at the moment when the school authorities and his parents were making plans to shift him to Delhi via Air Ambulance.

In grief and solidarity, the school authorities declared two-day observance of mourning. The school will remain closed during the two days of mourning. The school management, staff and the students condoled his death at the assembly as a mark of respect to the departed soul, said Fr Vijay Minj, Principal of the school.
