GUWAHATI, June 10 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that the pro-talk ULFA cadres would have to formally sign a ceasefire accord vowing suspension of operations, before the peace talks takes a concrete shape.
Everything would be done as per the norms and even though they have come overground formal announcement of ceasefire from both the sides would be a necessity, Gogoi said, while replying to a question at a press conference today.
Gogoi also informed that the Ranjan Daimary-faction of the banned NDFB has expressed its willingness to meet him to discuss certain issues, to which he had obliged.
I will meet them within this month and ask them to submit a report to facilitate talks. Our stand is the same even with the DHD (J). We welcome talks but those who resort to violence would be dealt with firmly, the Chief Minister said.
