Priyanka in Jorhat for tourism ad shoot

JORHAT, April 28 - Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who is the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism, today landed at Rowriah airport here at 3:30 pm on a three-day visit to the State to shoot for promotionals of the tourism department.

Official sources said that Priyanka, who has also made a name for herself in Hollywood, after reaching here headed for the Thengal Manor, the ancestral residence of renowned tea planter late Hemendra Prasad Barooah, on the outskirts of the town. She will be staying at there and is scheduled to shoot for a State tourism commercial.

On the way to Thengal Manor, the Quantico star visited the Subarna Probha Bordoloi Girls� School at Dhekiajuli and watched a Bihu dance presentation by the students. She also joined the dancers and danced with the students. She also had a brief interaction with the students.

A smiling Chopra said she was thrilled to be back in Assam and asked the students about what colour mekhela chador she should wear for the tourism commercial shoot. The students responded by shouting about several colours.

During her stay Priyanka is scheduled to visit tea gardens in Jorhat district and the bank of the Brahmaputra river for the shoot.

Tight security arrangements have been made by the district police for the actress.
