Priyadarshini tells youth to dream big

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 22 - Miss India World 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee on Thursday urged the youth of the region to dream big and go ahead to fulfil their dreams with dedication and passion.

Addressing a huge gathering of fans and admirers and media persons at Big Bazaar, Bhangagarh here, the diva said that success begins with dreams. Priyadarshini, who has made the entire Northeast proud with her accomplishment, also observed that the youth can play an important role in eradicating the social ills.

Replying to a query from the media, the well articulated young woman said that the social evils in the country are a matter of concern and these have to be addressed with real earnestness. The society is afflicted with problems and I would in my own capacity love to contribute towards addressing these issues, she announced.

Priyadarshini was accorded a warm and traditional felicitation by the Big Bazaar family and she answered queries of the customers present on the occasion.

Acknowledging that winning the crown was a dream come true, Priyadarshini said that she was still savouring those magical moments and the gala night when she clinched the coveted title. I am till now living those moments. But with this achievement I have a lot of responsibility now. I have to work hard for the Miss World pageant so that I can meet the expectations of the people, she said, adding that she would give her best at the international contest.

She also mentioned that winning an international contest also entails a bit of destiny as all participants are the best. Since 2000 when the last kiss in the air was blown by Indian beauties after winning the international beauty pageants, no international titles have been won by Indians. Despite myriad beauty pageants and extensive grooming sessions, the international crowns have not come by to India.

Priyadarshini said that apart from hard work she would also need the blessings of her fans to be successful at the international event.
