DIPHU, Dec 10 - The Karbi literary body Karbi Lamet Amei (KLA) appealed to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to print Karbi language textbooks of Class IX and X without any further delay.
While holding a press meet here at Diphu, the president and the general secretary of the literary body, Suren Kramsa and Kamsing Hanse, respectively, said that printing of Karbi textbooks for Class IX and X students on immediate basis is necessary to introduce the books in the high school level on time. Besides, the president and general secretary of the KLA also urged the KAAC to appoint Karbi language teachers in high schools for the coming session.
Addressing the press meet, KLA leaders also said that their 26th biennial conference will be held from January 18 to 21, next year. Elections for the posts of president and vice-president of the KLA will be held on December 12, next year, they added.
