Prices of essential commodities fixed in Golaghat district

DERGAON, Aug 19 - Due to the devastating floods in Golaghat district along with other parts of the State, the Golaghat district administration has kept a strict eye on the prices and storage of essential commodities. The Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra took stock of the essential commodities with the Supply Department of the district along with the representatives of Chambers of Commerce at a review meeting held at the DC�s Conference Hall on Friday.

According to a press release issued by the DIPRO Golaghat, in the meeting, the DC directed all the officials to keep a close eye on illegal price hikes and stock of essential items. He also urged the Chambers of Commerce to take steps not so that there is no scarcity of essential commodities. Taking part in the meeting, the secretary of the United Chambers of Commerce Golaghat, Deep Kalita opined that though the rail and road connectivity have been interrupted, yet the food items stored in the district will last another 15 days while potatoes and onions will be available for another five days ahead. He also assured the DC that there is no scarcity of essential commodities in the district at present. The meeting held with DC Gaurav Bothra in the chair and attended by ADC (Supply) Orpah Baglary, DIPRO in-charge as well as Circle Officer Golaghat Revenue Circle Lakhimi Dutta, Deputy Director of Supply Harendra Nath Doley, Superintendent of Supply Asanur Rahman along with the representatives of Chambers of Commerce of Golaghat and Dergaon discussed in length the supply, stock and prices of essential commodities. The meeting also finalised the prices of the essential commodities in the district and urged all to adhere to the prices in any circumstances.

The prices have been fixed as follows: Rice (paijam) Wholesale (WS) Rs 2400-2800 and Retail Sale (RS) Rs 26-30, Masur Dal (small) WS 7000 and RS 75, Masur (Medium) WS 6000-6500 and RS 65, Masur (Big) WS 5500 and RS 60, Moong Dal WS 7200 and RS 77, Boot dal WS 7500 and RS 80, Boot WS 6700 and WS 73, Bean WS 3300 and RS 36, Sugar WS 4400 and RS 48, Atta WS 1020 and RS 26, Maida WS 1050 and RS 28, Mustard Oil (Tin) Rs 1100, Refined Oil WS 1100 and RS 80, Potato WS 1100 and RS 15 and Onion WS 3000-3100 and RS 35. The release also stated that any complaint regarding prices and stock of essential commodities may be sent to the Supply Department (8638057859) immediately.
