Preparations under way for Sankardev Sangha meet

GORESWAR, Jan 23 - Brisk preparations are on for the 38th annual conference of Rangiya district unit of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha with a two-day long programme starting from January 30 under the aegis of Goreswar Anchalik unit of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha here at Bengnahati Satra Samannay Kshetra.

As per programme on January 30, a cleanliness drive will be carried out, inception of Guru Asha, Naam prasanga, saplings plantation and main gate inauguration. Diha naam competition will be held in the morning and in the afternoon, an inaugural function of literature, culture and release of books will be held following a common meet of children, youths and volunteers. The representatives� meet will be held after the inauguration of the gate in the evening.

On January 31, the religious flag will be hoisted. A cultural procession will be taken out in the morning. The religious meet will be held at noon where Bhabendra Nath Deka, padadhikar of the Sangha will take part as chief guest. Hem Bhai, Kulapati of Shanti Sadhana Ashram and Jarir Hussain chief editor of News Live will present as appointed speakers while many distinguished guests, including Minister Bhabesh Kalita, MP Biswajit Daimary, MP Bhubaneswar Kalita, MP Ramen Deka, MP Naba Saraniya, MLA Satyabrata Kalita, Ganesh Kachary and Maheswar Basumatary, Both the EMs of BTC along with many invited guests.

In the evening, Maheswar Basumatary, EM of BTC will inaugurate Bhouna pragramme.
