GUWAHATI, April 24 - A review meeting was held at the Circuit House in Williamnagar today to review the forthcoming election preparations. The meeting was chaired by IGP CRPF, Shillong, Prakash D, a press release received here stated.
DIG CRPF, Guwahati Range, JPK Ray, DIG, Western Range, Passi, DC Ramkumar, police observer Anis Ahmad Ansari, and SP R Momin attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by senior officers of the CRPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB. Various other unit commanders of the security forces were also present.
The security network for ensuring a peaceful poll was discussed. It was decided to instill confidence in the minds of the voters by area domination, route marches, flag marches, meetings, etc. The induction of forces before the polling day was also discussed.
A control room has been set up in the district headquarters for effective communication. The officers also visited a few interior areas, the release added.
