Pramilarani visits Pabho Reserve Forest

By Correspondent

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Feb 28 - State Forest Minister Pramilarani Brahma visited the Pabho Reserve Forest in Lakhimpur on Monday during her tour of the district.

Brahma had an interactive session with local residents at Sri Sri Adi Elengi Satra in Bihpuria from where she took a sudden visit to the reserve forest which has been in a state of encroachment. The minister went to see the reserve forest and said that plantation drive had been initiated in the open areas of the encroached land in a bid to recover the forest. Brahma also said that legal course would be followed on the matter of displacing the encroached population of the Pabho Reserve Forest in Lakhimpur district.

It may be recalled that the Pabha Reserve Forest, which was known for wild buffaloes has been encroached and turned into an agricultural land by flood and erosion-affected people of that area in the last four decades.
