TEZPUR, April 29 - The Prag Cine Awards presentation function will be held here with a two-day programme on May 14 and 15.
The organisers stated that the awards were instituted by Prag Television Channel in 2003 to recognise and honour the accomplishments of Assamese cinema. �Last year, the awards presentation function was held in Dibrugarh, the tea city of India, in which the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Bishnu Kharghoria,� they added.
The organisers said that this time the awards would cover 17 Assamese films, three movies in different languages of Assam and four other movies of the North-eastern region.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred on Bidya Rao this year, while an award christened �Golden Icon� will be given to Bollywood actress Dipannita Sharma. Programmes of film artiste Jaya Seal and noted tabla player Bikram Ghosh and special cultural events featuring Zubeen Garg, Angaraag Papon Mahanta, Dikshu, Priyanka Bharali and Babu will also be major attractions.
Some Tezpur-based artistes will also be felicitated.
