Prafulla Chandra Bora remembered

DERGAON, Aug 21 - The 74th birthday of noted literatteur, Late Prafulla Chandra Bora was celebrated at his Milanpur residence named �Jonak� here on Thursday.

The programme was chaired by noted writer Dr Ajit Barua and was attended by several prominent writers of the State. Taking part in the programme, writer as well as editor of children�s magazine Mouchaq, Shantanu Tamuli narrated the contributions of late Bora towards Assamese literature. He also mentioned about the contributions of late Bora during his membership of Sahitya Akademy.

Dr Malini also shed light on the life and works of the literatteur. In the programme, retired Principal of the Post-Graduate Training College at Jorhat, Binita Dutta released a book titled Dapoon Aru Dalil, a collection of writings by late Bora which were published in several newspapers and magazines.

It may be pertinent to mention that the literatteur died on April 1 last. The programme was also attended by noted publisher Khirod Goswami, retired DIG of Assam Police, Prabin Saikia, social worker Prakhyat Dowerah, Samajpran Atul Goswami, writer Mamoni Gogoi Barua along with several other writers and journalists.
