IMPHAL, March 20 - Assam Rifles troops recovered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device near Leingangching on National Highway 102 in Manipur�s Ukhrul district on Saturday.
The foot patrol party of 17 Assam Rifles while sanitising the road found a suspicious looking plastic bag with wires lying by the road near Leingangching, the Assam Rifles said in a press release.
A Bomb Disposal Team neutralised the IED. It was found that the IED was Claymore RCIED weighing about two kilograms, with a battery operated mechanism.
