MANGALDAI, April 5 - The Darrang district Agriculture Department distributed government-subsidised power tillers to the selected beneficiaries under National Food Security Mission (NFSM).
On this occasion, a public function was organised on the district agriculture office premises here on Tuesday where Gurujyoti Das, MLA of Mangaldai, participating as the chief guest, gave away the power tiller keys to 46 beneficiaries in presence of Bhagawan Ch Bharali, District Agriculture Officer, Darrang; Jyotish Ch Nath, SDO of Mangaldai Subdivision and other senior officials of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, he expressed hope that the power tillers, distributed at subsidised rate of Rs 75,000 each, will be properly utilised resulting in the increase in agricultural productivity of the district.
