DIBRUGARH, Nov 11 - Most parts of the city suffered from a massive power outage since 5 pm today, severely affecting Diwali celebrations.
The outage was caused by a short circuit of a control cable at the city�s main power control room at Kadamoni. According to APDCL engineers, the fault will require a couple of hours to be rectified.
While most of the city thus observed a dark Diwali today, the Milan Nagar, Nirmaligaon, Dibrugarh University and adjoining localities were not affected as these are fed from the new second main grid control room at Khanikar. APDCL engineers apologised for the accidental power outage caused by overloading of the power delivery systems in the city.
