Policy on protection of children in schools to come up in State

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 21 - A separate policy on care and protection of children in schools of Assam would soon come up in the State with the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) finalising the draft, before presenting it to the State government.

To ensure protection of child rights in schools as well to lay emphasis on proper care of children in schools, fee regulation, training of the teachers, attitude of the teachers, learning material, etc., as well as covering issues other than those incorporated in the Juvenile Justice Act, the Commission had suggested a separate policy for the schoolchildren of Assam.

To finalise the draft, the Commission today convened a meeting with all line departments to discuss and invite comments and suggestions over the policy.
