GUWAHATI, Sept 14 � The Special Court, Guwahati today remanded NN Rana Patgiri to two days police custody after he was arrested on Tuesday from GS Road by the Anti-Corruption and Prevention wing of the Assam Police.
Patgiri, the present OSD to the Department of Handloom and Textile Department (BTC) was arrested in connection with a multi-crore embezzlement case reported during Patgiri's tenure as the Artfed chairman.
Investigators, meanwhile has expedited its process of assessing the value of assets owned by Patgiri in and outside the State. It has also been reliably learnt that the investigators is tightening the noose on more such Government officials involved in graft.
