GUWAHATI, Aug 14 - The names of the awardees of the Police Medal for Gallantry and the President�s Police Medal have been announced along with CM�s Police Medal for Outstanding Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service for the year 2020. The awards were announced on the eve of Independence Day.
While five Assam Police personnel, including Anupam Gowala (SI), Kushal Das (CT), Titheswar Saikia (CT), Ashini Kumar Saikia (CT) and Cham Hum Chakhap (CT) have been chosen for the Police Medal for Gallantry, Managing Director of Assam Police Housing Corporation Arabinda Kalita has been chosen for the President�s Police Medal.
As many as 15 police personnel, including Devojyoti Mukherjee, IGP (Border) have been selected for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service for the year 2020.
Similarly, 29 Assam Police personnel, including IPS officers Indrani Baruah, Amanjeet Kaur, Anand Mishra, Subhasini Sankaran and Shwetank Mishra along with Mahesh Chand Sharma (AIGP), Ripul Das (SP, Udalguri) and Dambarudhar Hazarika (Commandant, 12 APBn) were chosen for CM�s Police Medal for Outstanding Service.
The Chief Minister Police Medal for Outstanding Service also went to Senior Station Officer of State Fire and Emergency services Tarun Chandra Dehingia and SDRF personnel Dilip Urang, Pankaj Subba, Parag Bora, Devison Chutia and Amit Choudhury.
