GUWAHATI, July 1 � Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Sonia Gandhi will arrive in the State tomorrow for a day-long visit to assess the flood situation.
Official sources said that Dr Singh and Gandhi would go straight to Jorhat and make an aerial survey of the flood hit areas like Majuli, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Sivasagar. They will then come to the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi airport to have a meeting with the Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi and senior officials to review the scene before flying back to New Delhi.
Sources said that the Chief Minister, who arrived in the city today, reviewed the flood scene in a meeting with ministers and officials in his residence this evening.
