NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Oct 18 - A meeting was held at the North Lakhimpur Girls� HS School recently to chart out the plans and celebrations of its platinum jubilee.
The meeting was chaired by Hemen Gogoi, retired principal of North Lakhimpur College, and attended by prominent citizens, academicians and ex-students of the school.
The retired principal of Lakhimpur Commerce College and senior citizen, Brajen Sarma Baruah, spoke on the inception of the school which was set up at the intiative of a few women of North Lakhimpur 75 years back.
The meeting was also addressed by many former students of the school who also hold prominent positions in the public domain of the State and Lakhimpur district.
The meeting also resolved to form a platinum jubilee celebration committee on a later date.
